Charles W. Fairbanks (1852-1918)

Charles W. Fairbanks was the Vice President of the United States from 1905-1909 under Theodore Roosevelt. Though he was born in Ohio, he spent most of his life in Indianapolis and began and ended his political career there. He was a member of the Mae nnerchor and served as the principal speaker at the grand opening of the new Maennerchor Hall in 1907. He also gave a speech at the 1908 National Saengerfest of the North American Saengerbund that was held in Indianapolis.
