Maennerchor Carnival invitation, 1881The Indianapolis Maennerchor has provided its members with more forms of entertainment than concerts. Large masked balls, like this grand carnival, were popular during the latter half of the nineteenth century. These events allowed the Maennerchor's passive members (those who did not perform in concerts) to come together for social activities.
