General P.H. Sheridan (1831-1888)

Dr. Jesseph's interest in Civil War texts was focused primarily on the generals of the North; General P.H. Sheridan (1831-1888) was among those he admired most. Sheridan, whose forces won decisive victories during the final stages of the war, wrote these memoirs in the last few months of his life. A first edition two-volume set published in 1888, this printing features several fold-out battlefield maps.
