John Goodwin(1594-1665), an English political writer, published The Obstructours of Justice as a defense of Oliver Cromwell and the trial of King Charles I. In it, he reminds the House of Commons of the theological, legal and political grievances against the King, which the Parliament had stated previously in the Grand Remonstrance of 1641, urging the removal of the king. |
