While the City Hospital never put the cart before the horse, during smallpox outbreaks they were known to put the cart beside the horse...naturally, this was in a period prior to health outcomes research.

While not as historically noted, Paul Revere's great grandson Horace Revere's ride throughout the country warning that "Small Pox is coming, Small Pox is coming!" was still very important.
