IUPUI ScholarWorks: Chasing 30,000 Pageviews per Month

IUPUI ScholarWorks is an institutional repository. It's also a website ... which means that people come looking for our site with keyword searches, direct links, social media sharing and all the other awesome sauce that makes the Internet a busy place. November is a busy month for academic searches on the Internet; students are digging up sources for their end of the semester projects and (just maybe) people are eager to wash down an over-sized, Thanksgiving meal with an academic whitepaper, journal article or a dissertation in pharmacology--who knows. At any rate, November 2015 was the busiest month on record for pageviews (a.k.a. "hits") at IUPUI ScholarWorks. ScholarWorks pages were visited 28,520 times last month. That's about 3,000 views above our current monthly average.

What were people looking for? A little bit of everything; stem cell research, Cronbach's alpha, and medical ethics issues are frequent keywords. These topics are also reflected in the 10-most viewed items in ScholarWorks for November 2015:
