Shauna Winter is the Human Resources Generalist for the University Library. Her work at the Library focuses on employee relations, hiring and onboarding, policy training, and employee engagement. Finding ways to improve and enhance employee experiences and belonging, especially during the orientation and onboarding process, is always a goal of hers. People spend the majority of their lives at work and with their co-workers, so Shauna believes it should be a place they both want to be and feel like they can bring their authentic self to each day. HR can get a bad rep as the "fun police" but, for Shauna at least, HR is about people not just policies. Her hope is to be an advocate, support system, sounding board, and partner for all University Library employees including students, staff, and faculty.
