High school students or other groups visiting the University Library with a school group are eligible to receive guest computer access, and may use books, media and other materials while in the library. Groups should contact Alicia Añino at alscampb@iu.edu or (317) 274-9833 about scheduling a library tour, reserving rooms, and setting up Guest Computer Accounts for participants. There is a minimum of two (2) weeks to schedule these visits during our low traffic times. However, a four (4) week turn around may be necessary during peak periods. We do not schedule any tours during IU Indianapolis finals. See finals schedule for the dates.
Photocopying and Printing
Currently there is no printing access for visitors. As part of our green initiative, the library encourages all participants to bring their own USB flash drive to save any work.
Visitor Parking
The Gateway parking garage at 525 N. Blackford Street offers the highest 1st floor clearance at 8’6” and is located close to the library. If you need something higher, a bus permit is required to park in the lot. It is $18/day and can be purchased at the Parking & Transportation office, 1004 W. Vermont Street. See the IU Indy Map for more information.
Food Options
IU Indy offers many different on-campus dining options.
There are numerous restaurants at the Indiana Ave. & 10th intersection (American, Cajun, Mexican, Indian) which is a 10-15 minute walk from the library. Additionally, the Indiana State Museum and Eiteljorg museums have cafes which are a 5-10 minute walk from the library.
