OER Course Material Fellowship Program

Faculty Funding to Adopt, Adapt, or Create Open Educational Resources

Get all of your students on the same page with zero textbook costs. All instructors of record on the IU Bloomington and IUPUI campuses are invited to apply by September 15 for the 2021-22 Course Material Fellowship Program. Selected instructors are provided with a stipend, the expertise of librarians and instructional technologists, and the opportunity to learn alongside their peers as they customize course materials to their specific learning objectives. Open Educational Resources (also known as OER) are teaching and learning resources that reside in the public domain or have been shared under a license that allow others to freely use and revise them. Open Educational Resources can include entire courses, course materials, textbooks, or multimedia.

Applicants select from the following proposal opportunities:

  • Adopt an existing OER: $1,000 max
  • Adapt existing OER(s) to fit instructional goals: $3,000 max
  • Create an entirely new OER where none currently exists: $5,000 max

Applicants are asked to submit their application through Qualtrics
