As a Data Services Librarian, I support researchers throughout the research lifecycle by enhancing existing services to include data information literacy instruction and the integration of computational tools and methods. To help researchers navigate evolving funder policies and research practices, I collaborate to develop strategies for effective research data management and sharing, fostering open access and long-term success.

My research interest focuses on Data Sovereignty and Collections as Data, with a particular emphasis on fostering ethical stewardship, collaboration, and cultural sensitivity. I am deeply invested in understanding how data practices intersect with the rights and needs of source communities, particularly Indigenous communities, whose cultural heritage and knowledge systems are often underrepresented or mishandled in institutional collections. Drawing from my past work in museums and with Tribal communities, I aim to explore ways to ensure that data management and access align with community-defined principles, such as respect, reciprocity, and equity. Additionally, I am passionate about leveraging Collections as Data to unlock the potential of archival and museum materials for research and education, while implementing inclusive metadata practices that reduce the perpetuation of harmful and outdated language. My goal is to contribute to a framework that empowers communities to exercise greater agency over their data and collections, bridging the gap between cultural heritage institutions and those they aim to serve.

Outside of work, I am an avid orchid grower, knitter, and sourdough baker.
