Herron Art Library - Policies

Who May Use the Library

Services are available to students, faculty and staff of IU Indianapolis, and to all Indiana residents. Preference is given to Herron students and faculty for materials in demand.

To check out materials, users must present one of two types of valid identification:

  1. IU Indianapolis Crimson Card
    Students, faculty, and staff may obtain an IU Indianapolis identification card (Crimson Card) in the Campus Center.
  2. Indiana University Libraries Borrower's Card.
    Residents of Indiana may obtain an Indiana University Borrower's Card by presenting the following forms of identification:
    • Indiana Driver's License or ID card
    • Proof of current address, such as a lease or utility bill

User Responsibilities

Patrons are responsible for all materials charged to their cards.

Patrons are responsible for notifying the library immediately if their cards are lost or stolen. There is a $5.00 charge for replacing Borrower's Cards.

Changes in name or address must be reported to the Bursar's Office.

Borrowing Journals

Unbound periodicals do not circulate. Bound journal volumes circulate overnight. No more than five (5) volumes may be charged out at any one time.

Recalls

All library materials are subject to recall for any reason. Failure to return a recalled item in a timely fashion will result in fines and the suspension of borrowing privileges.
