UL's New Social Sciences Librarian Elizabeth "Nikki" Johnson
Elizabeth “Nikki” Johnson has joined University Library as our newly appointed Social Sciences Librarian.
When we asked her to introduce herself, Nikki shared the following thoughts. "I completed my Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science and African & African American Studies at Indiana State University. There I discovered the authentic research process while participating in the Ronald E. McNair Summer Research Program. My efforts as a McNair Research Scholar focused on lifestyle perceptions, interpretations, and tendencies within the Black community. I earned my Master of Library Science degree from IUPUI. I was honored as a fellow for the Indiana’s Librarians Leading in Diversity (I-LLID) project, an award offered jointly by Indiana State Library and Indiana University School of Library and Information Science. As an I-LLID fellow, I gained the opportunity to explore, engage and confirm my interests in both research and academic librarianship. As a professional, I strive to encourage students by assisting them in developing confidence in their own academic journeys. I am a strong and dedicated advocate for promoting student success strategies, and for helping learners discover and rely on the strengths of their own achievement."
Welcome, Nikki!
