Joycelynn Marshall is the new HR Coordinator for IUPUI University Library. Here’s what she shared with us by way of an introduction, “I was born and raised in Indianapolis, Indiana. I grew up on the northwest and west side of Indy. I went to North Central High School then later went to Northwest High School. I’m a recent graduate of Indiana Wesleyan University. I have a Bachelor of Science - Management - specializing in Human Resource Management, and I also have an associate degree in Business. I’ve worked previously in various positions such as a Transaction Specialist for JP Morgan Chase Bank, a Human Resource Assistant for Ascension Health, and a Clerical Assistant with the Indiana Department of Child Services, to name a few. Throughout all my work experiences I’ve always considered myself as an advocate for assisting and inspiring my fellow colleagues to succeed. I used to work for IUPUI from 2014- 2016 with Campus Facility Services as a custodian in the Neuroscience building. Working in that role is what inspired me to go back to school and pursue my current career path. I love to spend time with my family, sing, and interact with all people I meet. One of my long- term goals is to start a nonprofit organization working with children in foster care, helping them transition from a group home setting to adulthood. I want to provide life skills coaching and any other resources needed to help transition young adults into adulthood. I’m excited to learn in my new role and be a part of the University Library’s team.”
