Events at IU celebrate Open Access Week from October 19-25

Have you ever wondered about the ‘Cost of Knowledge’? Humans create and share knowledge. Access to this knowledge is a human right. However, why do fees limit the ability to access and share knowledge? How do these costs continue to increase?

Join us in exploring this year’s theme for International Open Access (OA) Week, taking place from October 19-25, 2026.

Below are all the events we have planned at IU Indianapolis:

Can’t join us in-person? We are running a five-day, asynchronous OA Week Challenge. If you’re interested in participating be sure to sign up to take the challenge!

There are even more ways you can engage in programming throughout OA Week at IU. Our friends at IU Bloomington Libraries have four virtual events scheduled that will explore this year’s theme. You can find more details about those events here: https://libraries.indiana.edu/OAweek26

We’d love to see you at any one of these events and hope that you can engage with this year’s OA Week!
