Last fall, The University Library hosted the I Love IU Indy photo contest in November. All photos that were submitted to this contest were uploaded to the Wiki-base repository for images, Wikimedia Commons, under the Category: Indiana University Indianapolis.
The rules and criteria for this photo contest were simple–find something you love at IU Indy and take a pic! This prompt allowed for us to receive a lot of fantastic submissions. A committee of judges made up of the University Library’s Digital Content and Wikipedia Specialists selected the top three submissions.
Below are the winners from the contest.
In first place, congratulations goes to User:Trevor Darley for the photo of the skywalk (or more commonly known as, one of the gerbil tubes on campus) above Blackford St.

A special thanks goes out to all who participated! Your photos made us love IU Indy even more. Contributions like these photos add to the documentation of new buildings and other changes happening on our campus as it shifts and grows under its new identity.
As we continue on in this month of February and continue to celebrate what we love–such as IU Indy, the University Library (UL), and even data – feel free to contribute your own photo to Wikimedia Commons if you feel inclined. We’d love to keep seeing photos highlighting the things you love about campus!
