Library Fines

University Library no longer charges late fines for overdue general circulating materials. Patrons are still responsible for renewing materials, and for promptly returning items that are no longer needed. This policy applies only to University Library items; other libraries or campuses in the IU system may still charge late fines. Consult those campuses' library websites for more information. Fines will remain in place for course reserve materials.  Access to course reserve materials is essential for many students, and ensuring the prompt return of items is necessary. Fines also remain in place for Service & Information Desk items, such as phone chargers, calculators, markers, etc.
